Our Story……
Flame Cave Pizza Co. began back in 2020 when the world was in lockdown…. Originally by Pete & Lisa Beigan who ran a successful local restaurant, having a restaurant forced closed was a difficult situation & they decided to consider a plan B. All the equipment for outside catering was purchased including a mobile wood fired oven.
Pete has been a chef for over 30 years, he developed a love for cooking on a open fire after he built a wood fired oven in the garden of the family home. Over the years he developed an amazing dough technique using a sourdough base, trial and error led to the delicious, easily digestible base we now market.
Flame Cave started trading as a sideline to the restaurant business & soon became a successful name of its own, bookings rolled in & it was clear we needed more hands. Along came Laurie & Fiona Spencer, owners of Porkies the Family Butchers. Laurie & Fiona both believe in the concept of supporting local businesses & using ingredients of a high quality that are sourced locally. It soon also became clear that they both have the pizza making skills to compliment the team.
Now a collaboration of 2 great teams, Flame Cave Pizza Co. Is growing in equipment, expertise & popularity. With 2 ovens Flame Cave can now produce more. As a team we are building a local network of suppliers, events & customers.
